The experience

The migration reaches Kenya's Maasai Mara from roughly July to October, when the herds push north from the Serengeti and gather at the Mara and Talek rivers for the crossings. We position you in camps close to the classic crossing points, run full-day game drives with packed lunches so you never have to leave a building herd, and keep flexible so your guide can chase the movement day by day. Book 6–9 months ahead; peak season camps sell out early.
